Inspired by famed perfumer, Frederic Malle and the distinctive in-house creations of Jean Claude Ellena, Donagh set about crafting a blend of essential oils to reflect one fragrance he was particularly enamoured with. It was his search for a specialty fragrance house that brought him to discover Hay Absolute - a deep earthy aroma he then rounded with pink pepper, lifted with bitter orange and cardamon and balanced with cedarwood and geranium. The feeling of winding down the heady hustle toward cosy evenings, harvest blooms abound. At the top of this fragrance is the sweet and warming aroma of coriander seed, a lighter fresher scent than the leaf of the plant. That top note is grounded by a rich, earthy base of vetiver. The heart notes are a careful blend of geranium, eucalyptus and ethereal amounts of lavender that hold the blend together just right.
